Following the complete Castor & Pollux, performed in the Grande Salle, three musicians from the Concert d’Astrée return with works in a very different register, albeit none the less exceptional, by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Unique in all manners, these Pièces de Clavecin en Concert constitute the only chamber music he would ever compose; out in front, a majestic virtuoso harpsichord part, which enters a dialogue, "in concert", with the viol and the violin. Composed by Rameau at the height of his maturity, they are a pure jewel of 18th century French instrumental music.
