Eclectic and prolific, the Briton Jonathan Dove already composed an opera based on the adventures of Pinocchio. Here, he delivers his version of the myth of Theseus. This work brings together choirs of children, adolescents and adults –who are taking their first steps onto the stage in the context of the Finoreille project– accompanied by an orchestra combining young talents and musicians from the Lille National Orchestra.
Finoreille project
Direction and choir master Brigitte Rose
In autumn 2015, the Opera will launch an ambitious program: regular choir practice workshops for children in various parts of the region, led by a specialist in choral singing, Brigitte Rose. This is the Finoreille project. Each year, this initiative will culminate in a concert or opera for children on the stage of the Lille Opera.
Opera for children, adults and teens by Jonathan Dove (born in 1959) based on a libretto of Alasdair Middleton adapted in french by Alain Perroux.
