Asha Bhosle is quite simply a living legend in India culture. Since the start of her career at the age of 16, she has performed many thousands of songs. Her
singing voice has been used in musicals for the film studios of Bombay and Madras and she is one of the stars of Bollywood films, those Indian megaproductions
inspired by Hollywood studios and
vividly tinged with local colour (masala).
