Upon learning of the death of her husband, the Emperor Claudius, Agrippina does everything in her power to place her son, Nero, on the throne – a plot that cannot fail to bring out the best from such a fine Shakespearian stage director as Jean-Yves Ruf. The music is unveiled with grandeur and elegance, interpreted by young talents and long-time favourites of Emmanuelle Haïm such as Renata Pokupic and Sonya Yoncheva.
