Introduction

This masterpiece of baroque opera, one of the first operas written in English, tells of the tragic love of Dido, the queen of Carthage, and Aeneas, prince of Troy. Its brief length makes it ideal for the whole family. Directed by Kenneth Weiss, who has worked with William Christie, this production by the European Academy of Music for the Festival of Aix-en-Provence features particularly charismatic young soloists and young musicians.

A special ticket price - under age 16 (-20%) is accorded on presentation of documentation proving age. The performance on Wednesday 9 January is given exceptionally at 6 p.m. with the ticket price of 15 euros, in the context of the Wednesday Concerts at 6 P.M.. The performance of Thursday 10 January is reserved for school students from the Nord-Pas de Calais region.
For the performances of 9 and 10 January, audio-description services will be available for spectators who are visually impaired.
