This new production offers an
interesting collaboration between
the brilliant young conductor
Alain Altinoglu and the Orchestre
National de Lille, famous for its
outstanding performances of
French music. The greatness of
this lyrical masterpiece also lies in the psychological depth of its
characters and the subtlety of its
dramatic progression. This
dimension will be felt even more
keenly thanks to the finesse of
Yves Beaunesne’s theatrical
direction in this, his first operatic
production, having already
acquired a solid reputation in
theatre.
