Sandrine Anglade (director) asked
writer Jean-Daniel Magnin to
write a variation on the young
composer’s original score for this
work (Mozart composed it at the
grand age of 12!). His musical
approach to the words and his
interest in the story lend a
beneficial freshness to this tale of
love and jealousy between the
young shepherd, Bastien, and the
pretty shepherdess, Bastienne.
Children from the Maîtrise des
Hauts-de-Seine directed by Gaël
Darchen perform the solo roles
and chorus in this playful and
inventive spectacle.
