Introduction
Handel’s music gives expression to the fate of the Christian martyr Theodora with a dramatic
intensity worthy of the greatest tragedies. The score’s musical colour will be dazzlingly conveyed
both by Emmanuelle Haïm’s direction and the performance of her ensemble, Le Concert d’Astrée,
which will be partnering prestigious soloists including Anne Sofie von Otter.
