SACRED CHORAL MUSIC
It’s not widely known but over the past several decades the art of the choir has become a South African passion, giving rise to flamboyant national competitions, and covering the gamut from traditional music to the operatic repertoire. The Celestial 12, comprised of 12 singers from the Cape Town Opera Choir, will be the exceptional guests of the Lille Opera, and we will be given the opportunity to hear them on two occasions: during performances of the opera Così fan tutte that opens the season, and during a concert devoted to sacred music, across time and continents.
