The Lille Opera Choir journeys to Eastern Europe for this large-scale Wednesday Concert in the Great Hall: folk and religious music, gypsy and oriental influences, Slovakian and Moravian songs, all will be given a place of honour with the most beautiful scores by Janacek, Dvorak, Bartok and Brahms. A program of variable geometry, with the thirty singers from the Opera Choir taking on Janacek’s Choruses for Male Voice and Dvorak’s Moravian Duets, Bartok’s Four Slovak Folk Songs, and Brahms’ Ziegeunerlieder for mixed choir. A wind from the East blows through the Opera !
