The bard Wulfstan tells the tale of a penitent in the grip of joyous or furious dreams, who flees the three unchained Furies, and who finds his salvation at the hands of Swithun, saint of all miracles. In this tender tale of initiation, inspired musically by the polyphonies of Winchester in the year 1000, dreams and fantasies mix in a musical maelstrom both liberating and jubilatory.
