After Medea and the performances of Travelogue I - Twenty to Eight, in the context of the week devoted to “Sasha Waltz & Guests” at the Lille Opera, another treasure remains to be discovered, My Dearest... My Fairest by Joanna Dudley and Juan Kruz Diaz De Garaio Esnaola, both stalwart companions of the choreographer.
A piece where Joanna and Juan, the lovers, as if enthralled by toys, sing, whistle, speak in sign language, play their favourite instruments (a red bear and a yellow rabbit, a kazoo, a flute or a music box) and hijack Purcell, Italian opera or the great love songs. The objects dance, the eyes sparkle, a little gem of pure fantasy!
