Making a dream a daily reality is here possible thanks to the talent of the German choreographer. The objects of daily life – a refrigerator, a telephone, a bed — suddenly become poetic, the little things of life, done mechanically, sometimes even in an obsessive way, are dissected, exaggerated, and then take on a whole other dimension.
As is often the case with Sasha Waltz, the language is expressive, moving, even sensual, but it retains its abstract aspects. The clichés and stereotypes, displayed with irresistible and sometimes abrasive humour, present characters imprisoned within their social structure, within their lives… but so touching and moving… They each reveal a part of ourselves.
During this week of “Sasha Waltz & Guests” lies another treasure to be discovered: My Dearest... My Fairest by Joanna Dudley and Juan Kruz Diaz De Garaio Esnaola on the 25th and 26th of November in the Foyer of the Opera.

Sasha Waltz
